Can I get a breast pump if my insurance requires medical necessity?Updated a month ago
Yes! If your insurance only covers a breast pump when it’s medically necessary, we may still be able to help.
Medical conditions that may qualify include, but aren't limited to:
Premature birth
Multiple births, such as twins or triplets
Serious illness of the mother or baby
A prolonged separation after birth, such as a NICU stay
Mastitis or another breast infection
A neurological or genetic condition affecting the baby
An anatomic or mechanical condition, such as a cleft palate
A congenital condition that requires surgery
If you meet one of your insurance plan’s medical necessity requirements, we’ll need a prescription from your doctor with an insurance-approved diagnosis code. Our Customer Care team will help you figure out what’s next.
